IUPAT Industry Partner Receives SSPC 2019 George Campbell Award for Bridge Project
Corcon, Inc recently received the 2019 George Campbell Award by the SSPC for its work on the Walt Whitman bridge in Philadelphia.

This project was the largest single painting contract ever awarded by the owner of the bridge. It included surface preparation and painting the entire 2,000-foot suspension span, two 750-foot suspended side spans and deck support steel inside the anchorage vaults. Before the start of this project, these areas had the original lead paint with spotty areas of touched-up maintenance painting.
President and CEO Lou Lyras was on hand to accept the award. In addition to serving on the board of Finishing First LMCI, Lyras and his company the industrial painters of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades on jobs throughout North America.
